Flag Hoisting at Valayam Grama Panchayat as Part of ‘Operation Thufan 2.0’ for a Drug-Free Kerala
Valayam: As part of the state-level ‘Operation Thufan 2.0’ campaign aimed at achieving a drug-free Kerala, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Valayam Grama Panchayat. The programme was conducted with the message, “Moving Forward for a Drug-Free Kerala – With the Strength of Youth and the Support of Society.”
The flag was hoisted by Smt. Preetha P.S., President of Valayam Grama Panchayat. The programme was attended by local body representatives, officials from various government departments, police and excise officials, teachers, students, youth, Kudumbashree members, employees, and others from different sectors.
Along with preventing the use and spread of drugs, Operation Thufan 2.0 aims to keep young people and students away from substance abuse and strengthen collective community intervention. The programme highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts and public participation involving local self-government institutions, the Police, Excise, the Education Department, and other concerned departments in anti-drug activities.
Various awareness and preventive programmes aimed at strengthening anti-drug activities within the Valayam Grama Panchayat area will continue to be organised.
